What do DART's new holiday buses look like?

Exterior of DART holiday bus parked outside of a stopDART is partaking in the holiday spirit this year with a festive train and buses, designed to bring holiday cheer for riders and onlookers across North Texas.

Departing from its usual fleet of yellow vehicles, the transit agency decided for the first time to embellish three buses and one train with dozens of snowmen and twinkling lights. Each vehicle is emblazoned with the greeting: “Happy Holidays from DART.” The holiday train made its debut Dec. 5 on the Orange Line and will cycle through the Red, Green, and Blue lines, depending on the week. The train and buses will travel throughout DART’s service area until New Year’s Day.“Every time we turn around, we’re coming a little bit further out of the pandemic,” Shattles said. “We have more and more people who are out and about, going to work, going places and relying on DART that we wanted to do something for our riders.

“For our first year, we really want to do something, they brought a little bit of a touch of the season,” he said. “Moving forward, we’re going to actually look for the opportunities to diversify.” For the full holiday effect, the agency decorated the inside of each vehicle with twinkling lights, snowflakes, tinsels, bows and candy-cane-wrapped poles.
