Calls are taken from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. If the deal is approved, city 311 and court and detention services staff would train the workers brought in by Envision Dallas. Dallas’ 311 customer service office oversees the handling of calls coming from 311 and the municipal court’s general line at 214-670-0109. Hiring more call takers is expected to improve service. The nonemergency line receives more than 1 million calls a year from people needing help with water, court, animal, sanitation, homelessness and other issues.
The percentage last fiscal year, which runs from the beginning of October to the end of September, was 28%.
