Dallas' mixed-use Mockingbird Station development is on the market.
Opened in 2001, Mockingbird Station is located next door to a Dallas Area Rapid Transit rail station and is just east of Southern Methodist University.
The development on Mockingbird Lane and North Central Expressway has received multiple real estate industry awards for its combination of shops, restaurants, apartments and office space. the high-profile property has been owned by an investment fund headed by California-based CBRE Global Investors.Jones Lang LaSalle is seeking a buyer for the mixed-use development which includes 211 apartment unis, more than 150,000 square feet of offices and almost 200,000 square feet of retail space.
A 1930s Western Electric industrial building on the site was transformed into loft residential units.The almost 9-acre property also includes a future development site at the north end that can support 27 floors of construction.Mockingbird Station set the tone for many other transit-oriented developments built in North Texas and beyond.
