The Dauphin County man said he left the 3-month-old girl in a tub, but authorities said drowning isn't what killed her.
A Dauphin County man inflicted “abusive head trauma” on his baby daughter that killed her in February after months of treatment, court documents said.show he has not been arrested as of Friday afternoon.Davis initially told investigators his daughter drowned in a bathtub Aug. 18, 2022, in his apartment on the 5200 block of Wynnewood Road, in the Pennswood Apartments complex.
When officers met Davis at the hospital, he allegedly told them he left his daughter alone in the bathtub for 30 seconds while he went to answer his front door. Davis put the baby in a diaper, wrapped her in a blanket and ran to the apartment complex’s rental office, where the baby’s mother worked, the affidavit said.
The baby — who was in cardiac arrest when she arrived at the Osteopathic Hospital — died more than six months later, on Feb. 22, 2023, at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
