The students were participating in Global Youth Service Day which is April 29th.
CLEVELAND, Ohio - Ben Geiss and his classmates at Richardson Elementary School in Cuyahoga Falls spent the day giving back to their community.“When they went through war and training, it was not easy, so the least we can do is make these benches for them and their families,” said Geiss.“You know we’re just teaching our students that we are in a world, we share it together and we need to give back to everyone,” said Julie Hall, principal at Richardson Elementary School.
Even though the tribute garden won’t be finished until sometime next year, Geiss says a lot of hard work went into it. “It was everyone, those people in the garden, working their butts off. There are people who made benches working their butts off, and we just finished,” said Geiss.
