I definitely couldnt have gone out there and performed at the level they would need me too, Cubs reliever David Robertson said.
“And there’s also the fear of spreading it throughout your team. I didn’t want to do that. I wanted to make sure early if I had it or not and get out of there.”
Robertson said he’s feeling “good” now physically. He was able to throw a little bit, including with Stroman, who is set to return from the IL and “A lot of sitting around, trying to get as much exercise as I can,” Robertson said. “Just down for a few days and slowly my energy came back.”“First time and hopefully last,” he said. “Glad I’m vaccinated and boosted. I think it helped.”
While Stroman and Robertson have been cleared, the Cubs placed Jason Heyward and Michael Hermosillo on the IL with no designation this week.
