Hungarian PM Orbán is widely criticized for systematically dismantling his country’s democracy — but that hasn’t stopped him from winning praise among Republicans.

Viktor Mihály Orbán was born in 1963 in Székesfehérvár, about 40 miles west of Budapest. The family lived in modest surroundings.
