Crews worked to contain a brush fire slowly spreading at Hansen Dam in the Lake View Terrace area of Los Angeles on Tuesday evening.
The fire was reported around 6:30 p.m. in the area off Foothill Boulevard near Hansen Dam, according to Margaret Stewart, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Fire Department. By 7:40 p.m., the fire had spread approximately 8 to 10 acres in the area surrounding the dam. Ground and air crews had started to contain the spread at a natural fire break, and there was no concern for embers being carried by wind and spreading the flames.
There were no threats to nearby structures, and no evacuation orders were in place, authorities said. No injuries were reported.
