This injury Hurts the Eagles, but it just might help the 49ers.
The San Francisco 49ers' unlikely pursuit of winning the NFC's top seed is just a bit likelier following the latest news out of Philadelphia on Monday.
It's unclear whether Hurts hurt his throwing shoulder, but Schefter subsequently said there's a"real chance" backup Gardner Minshew could start on the road against the 10-4 Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. S.F. soccer heads fill Golden Gate Park for World Cup Final Nearly 2,000 San Francisco soccer fans descended upon JFK Drive on Sunday morning to catch A…
If this scenario came to fruition, the 49ers' conference record would surpass those of the Eagles and the Vikings , giving San Francisco the conference's top seed. So the 49ers grabbing the NFC's top seed wouldn't appear especially likely. But then again, you could've said the same thing about making the playoffs — let alone winning the NFC West — while down to their third-string quarterback.
