A police officer and a robbery suspect were shot Thursday evening in west suburban Lombard, officials said.
The officer and suspect were shot on Ann Street between Lincoln and Main streets, according to the village of Lombard and police. Ann is located just north of Roosevelt Road. The area is a few blocks south of Glenbard East High School.As of 4:50 p.m., one person had been arrested, according to a Lombard police dispatcher, who added, “The community is safe right now.”
