Conservatives are slamming the Dutch after a transgender contestant was crowned Miss Netherlands over the weekend.
Rikkie Valerie Kolle, a 22-year-old biological male identifying as a woman, defeated nine women in becoming the third transgender contestant in Miss Universe's history."There are 8.7 million women who live in The Netherlands," one Twitter user commented.Why, then, did they need to pick a man to win their Miss Netherlands contest?"Why, then, did they need to pick a man to win their Miss Netherlands contest? Kolle will represent the Netherlands in El Salvador, sometime after the other 37 participating countries crown their respective representatives — the last of which will occur in November.
