Brian Robinson Jr. has been cleared to practice with the Washington Commanders a little more than five weeks after he was shot in an attempted robbery.
Rivera does not anticipate Robinson will have any limitations on the practice field, but wants to wait to see that unfold before jumping to conclusions.
After he was injured in the shooting, that fell to incumbent Antonio Gibson, who has averaged just 3.3 yards a carry so far this season behind a banged-up offensive line. “We have to be smart about how we’re going to handle him, and we’ve got to handle those expectations. We also got to handle what he’s going to go through physically and mentally. It’s a different set of circumstances. I don’t know of any other player that I’ve coached that’s had to go through this.”
