The Columbus Academy boys golf team will go for its sixth consecutive Division II state title Oct. 14 and 15 at Ohio State's Scarlet Course.

Academy advanced to state by winning district Oct. 5 at Turnberry, shooting a 303 to edge runner-up Jonathan Alder . Jonathan Alder junior Brady Fox earned the individual berth with a medalist round of 68.

Also at state are Chagrin Falls, Chardon Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin, Cincinnati Wyoming, Galion, Gallipolis Gallia Academy, Mentor Lake Catholic, Ottawa Hills, Thornville Sheridan and Van Buren. “Brady has worked extremely hard since his freshman year and has gotten better each year and it’s exciting to see his hard work pay off,” Jonathan Alder coach Mitch Koester said. “He joined The Golf Room Junior Academy after last season and has gained some distance off the tee to go along with his great ball-striking and short game. I’m excited for Brady to go out and compete at a high level with some of the best golfers in the state.

The Green Wave won district Oct. 5 at Turnberry with a 307. Also advancing was Delaware Christian sophomore Gabe Scherer, who earned the individual berth and medalist honors with a 73.
