Despite over $1 million in campaign donations and confidence among supporters, Colorado Springs voters soundly rejected recreational pot sales on election day.
released early this morning, 77,899 Colorado Springs voters rejected the recreational sales proposal, with 58,878 votes in favor. Yet Question 301, which would've created a 5 percent tax on recreational pot sales had voters approved Question 300, passed 71,678 to 64,470.
“While we are disappointed in the outcome, we respect the will of the voters on Question 300. From the onset, this campaign was about finally giving the voters of Colorado Springs an opportunity to finally be heard," Your Choice Colorado Springs campaign manager Anthony Carlson says in a statement."The residents of Colorado Springs will continue to miss out on millions in tax revenues to fund vital programs in our City.
