Flooding in parts of Saskatoon as rain expected to continue overnight
Saskatoon experienced heavy rainfall throughout the day, with flooding reported in numerous areas of the city and some underpasses rendered impassible by the water.
At a media conference early Monday evening, Lang said that the weather event had cleared up and residents should expect light showers and potentially thunderstorms into the evening. In a post to Twitter just after 2 p.m., police said the underpasses at Taylor Street, Lorne Avenue and Preston Avenue were impassible.
“Fire and some of our water and sewer crews, and our partners with the Saskatoon Police Service, are responding to several calls related to this flooding,” she said. “City crews will be working throughout the evening and overnight to address it as needed.”
