Exclusive: Check out a thrilling 3-cue sampler, premiering pieces from the upcoming soundtrack album for searchlightpics’ Chevalier
The new Searchlight Pictures biopic Chevalier is an overdue exploration of the life of a once-beloved musician and composer. The film stars Kelvin Harrison Jr., who also recently portrayed musical legend and Elvis’ friend B.B. King in Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis. Together, the cast and creative team of Chevalier have crafted an engaging film that, despite its detailed approach, is likely to inspire audiences to further research the life of its subject, Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Fittingly, Chevalier is brought to life in part on the strength of its music, which is a blend of Bologne’s own work, the work of other period masters, and composers Michael Abels and Kris Bowers. Together, the film's composers have both honored the Chevalier's work while bringing modern flair to the score itself.
Listen to Chevalier on April 21 While all film score soundtracks are companions to the films themselves, the Chevalier album is much more. Chevalier honors the forgotten legacy of a musical great, and the album puts the spotlight on Joseph Bologne’s music even more than the film itself.
