The Carlisle hoops legend, who returned to his alma mater this year as an assistant coach with the North Carolina Tar Heels, was on the bench Saturday for the program’s 81-77 win over Duke in the Final Four.
North Carolina will face Kansas, which defeated Villanova earlier Saturday, for the championship on Monday at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.
Lebo has previously worked as the head coach at East Carolina, Auburn, Tennessee Chattanooga and Tennessee Tech. Lebo was a McDonald’s All-American at Carlisle High School before going on to play for Dean Smith at North Carolina from 1986-1989.
