Bellaire sends Deer Park into district with 4-3 defeat

He allowed just two earned runs, but two unearned runs proved to be the difference.Two Bellaire High School pitchers limited Deer Park to four hits, while the Cardinals took advantage of errors in the first, third and sixth innings as Bellaire departed Jim Kethan Field with a 4-3 non-district victory Saturday afternoon.
Righthander Roman Williams was the starting and winning pitcher, while Cameron Solomon collected the last five outs to pick up the save. A walk, a double by Erik Aguirre and a RBI sacrifice fly by Woodall ended Williams’ stint on the hill in the fifth. Solomon came on and faced just three batters, surrendering an RBI ground out to second base by Dillon Mancha, followed by a walk and a strikeout.
