In prime time, in the Browns’ 29-17 win over the Steelers, Njoku had one of his more memorable games of his six-year career.
CLEVELAND, Ohio -- When the Browns extended David Njoku’s contract, this is the kind of production they envisioned for him.
His 89 yards are the second most he’s had in his career, save for the 149 he had against the Chargers last year.It only seemed like a matter of time until the Browns would involve Njoku more in their pass game in 2022. We even suspected they may purposely funnel things his way tonight to force his involvement, similar to what they did with Amari Cooper last week.
On Thursday, he was much more dynamic in the pass game, even prompting former Browns receiver Odell Beckham Jr.With just over eight minutes to play in the first half, he caught his first touchdown of the year, complete with his signature “Chief Slam” celebration, on a 7-yard throw from Jacoby Brissett near the back of the end zone.
