San Antonio police investigate an early afternoon shooting that left a 14-year-old boy wounded in the 700 block of West Mayfield Boulevard on Thursday, March 17, 2022.Police are trying to piece together how a 14-year-old boy was shot Thursday afternoon at a Southwest Side apartment.
Officers were alerted at about 1 p.m. to the shooting in the 700 block of West Mayfield Boulevard, said Officer Sarai Nemeses, a San Antonio police spokeswoman. Police found the boy outside the apartments with at least one gunshot wound to his lower torso, Nemeses said. He was taken to a hospital in stable condition.At least two other people were around when the shooting occurred, but Nemeses said the witnesses and the boy are not “cooperating” with police.“We don’t know if this was an accident or not,” she said.
