After years with a single public high school, New Braunfels ISD plans to open a second campus in 2024.

New Braunfels High School’s Ninth Grade Center campus, which is six miles from the main campus, will be transformed into Long Creek High School. Plans call for the new school to open in 2024. Current eighth-graders in New Braunfels Middle School - the feeder school for Long Creek and one of two middle schools in the district - will be the first graduating class in 2027. Long Creek High School's mascot will be the Dragons and its colors will be blue and dark green.
