Four years since the nerd-centric sitcom wrapped up its 12-year run, Warner Bros. TV and Chuck Lorre are looking to expand the universe again with a second offshoot. It's still in the very early stages of development, but there's already tremendous interest in it.
Just over a week after news of another Big Bang Theory spinoff broke, Bialik shared a BTS image of her and Jim Parsons rehearsing for Sheldon and Amy's wedding. The event also marked the first physical appearance of grown-up Georgie and the return of adult Missy, now prominent characters within the Big Bang Theory world thanks to Young Sheldon.
Will Amy & Sheldon Be Part Of The New Big Bang Theory Spin-Off? Warner Bros. Television and Chuck Lorre Productions are coming up with another show set in the Big Bang Theory universe, and there are several options for the project. The offshoot can simply be a rebrand of Young Sheldon to become The Coopers, so it can move forward without Sheldon. Another option is a spinoff that focuses on Paige Swanson. Both of these proposals will likely not have Bialik or Parsons involved.
At this point, only time will tell if Bialik's social media post is a clue to what the next The Big Bang Theory spinoff can be. It's worth noting that Young Sheldon still has at least one more season to go, with the prequel already guaranteed to return for season 7. Therefore, it's possible that its contemporary may not release until the 2025-2026 TV calendar.
