Opinion: Biden’s shameless pandering to voters: Letters
Biden’s shameless pandering to votersThe current president is promising to use $42.5 billion in taxpayer dollars to bring high-speed internet to rural communities of the country “where Democrats have struggled to win voters.” You know, “rural communities,” which tend to vote Republican. Unbelievable. That Democrats would even admit to this bit of underhanded chicanery is amazing.
The U.S. has an immigration policy now that is not being followed. President Biden put Kamala Harris in charge of the border months ago and she has done nothing to propose a plan or resolve the issues. This is not a black and white issue, and many people feel compassion for the immigrants who have traveled hundreds of miles to get here illegally. But tragically, the truth is that a small minority of the immigrants are criminals fleeing the law and persecution from their native countries.
The Regional Connector is a $1.8 billion boondoggle that should not have been necessary. MTA has not done the very first job it should have done: Plan a transit system for the entire county. Instead, it has done one line at a time, starting with the railroad right of way it inherited, without consideration of whether that was the best alignment or not, and only focusing on commuters, not including entertainment or shopping venues.
“Common sense gun safety measures.” What exactly does that mean? Is it “common sense” to outlaw rape, murder, arson, speeding, bank robbery, etc.? Of course it is. Aren’t all of those outlawed? Do they work? Of course not. California has age limits on buying guns, background checks, waiting periods for gun purchases Do speeders, bank robbers, rapists and murderers not speed, rob banks, rape and murder because they are against the law? We all know the answers.
God help us. We certainly do. The biggest prayer I have right now is that there will be a debate between President Biden and Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the only hope that Democrats have of preventing Biden from becoming its nominee. He is for peace. This would be the way to achieve having a peace president in the White House. It would be almost prophetic for RFK Jr. to broker a peace with Russia and Ukraine and stop the madness of escalation now.
