President Joe Biden arrives in Canada for talks with PM Justin Trudeau on several challenges: Russia-Ukraine conflict, climate crisis, trade, mass migration and growing influence of China

Canadian PM Justin Trudeau and his wife Sophie Gregoire Trudeau greet US President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden as they arrive at Rideau Cottage in Ottawa.

As part of the agreement, Canada is expected to announce that 15,000 migrants from the Western Hemisphere will be given slots to apply to enter the country, according to a Canadian official. The White House declined to comment on the agreement, which is expected to be formally announced on Friday. Canada announced last year it is investing $3.8 billion over the next six years to modernise NORAD radar systems and billions more years later, but David Cohen, the US ambassador to Canada, has said the current threat climate calls for quicker investment.
