The diocese’s policy prevents students and staff from undergoing gender-affirming care and using pronouns different than those affiliated with a person’s biological sex

Bibb and councilmen Kerry McCormack and Charles Slife noted their disappointment with the issue. Their views were met by a conservative member of the Ohio House, who stressed that “churches don’t need clueless politicians telling them what the Bible teaches.”. It prevents students and staff from undergoing gender-affirming care and using pronouns different than those affiliated with a person’s biological sex.

McCormack, who represents Ohio City, Tremont and most of downtown, posted a short note on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter. He said he believes the decision will hurt youths. Gary Click, a conservative Republican in the Ohio House from Sandusky County, attacked their statements, particularly Bibb’s.

“For the record, is clearly clueless about genuine Christianity. He is also apparently clueless about the Constitution and why the First Amendment exists. Let’s talk mayor. I’d be happy to help you understand.”
