Democratic Texas gubernatorial candidate Beto O’Rourke announced Wednesday he will continue his Drive for Texas campaign tour on Friday, one week since he fell ill with a bacterial infection on Aug. 26.
The lengthy campaign tour spans 49 days and includes more than 5,600 miles of driving between various Texas appearances.
His appearance in Laredo on Friday will include a fiesta at 6 p.m. at the Laredo Firefighters Union Hall. O’Rourke was forced to cancel a few appearances, but still held virtual events. He was briefly hospitalized in San Antonio following an appearance at a book store there. While my symptoms have improved, I will be resting at home in El Paso in accordance with the doctors’ recommendations.
I am sorry to have had to postpone events because of this, but promise to be back on the road with you as soon as I am able.A full list of remaining events can be found
