There is such a thing as 'too much of a good thing,' and the body tends to want balance."
"Beta-carotene supplement for the general population is not recommended," adds Burdeos."Other research shows that beta-carotene supplementation is harmful in people who smoke cigarettes—increasing the risk of lung cancer. We also know that smoking not only increases the risk of lung cancer but also other conditions such as heart attacks and diabetes.", such as green, orange, and yellow fruits and vegetables, gets converted to vitamin A in the body," says Burdeos.
"In general, supplements should not replace food," concludes Burdeos."Aim to have a more nutritious diet by adding health-promoting foods to your diet. Only supplement if there are gaps—your doctor will help you identify gaps."
