Beechcroft beat visiting Columbus East 27-12 on Oct. 13 to take sole possession of first place in the City League-North Division.

Beechcroft, which took a big step toward making the Division III, Region 11 playoffs with the victory, will face Northland in the regular-season finale Oct. 22 with the outright title on the line.
After Scott’s touchdown made it 21-6, Lindsay hit Burns for a 15-yard touchdown to open the fourth quarter, but Beechcroft’s Armand Vickers stopped Burns on the two-point conversion run to keep it at 21-12.
