Alaska Wildlife Troopers are pausing their enforcement of this requirement until the motor vehicle ban is lifted.
FAIRBANKS, Alaska - After closing the Tanana Valley State Forest to motorized vehicles on June 29, the Alaska Department of Natural Resources has released an update about bear baiting in the area.
In a press release, DNR says hunters who are bear baiting in the area have until Thursday, June 30 to clean up their stations. Alaska Wildlife Troopers, however, are pausing their enforcement of this requirement until the motor vehicle ban is lifted. This is because those with bear baiting setups may have trouble accessing them right now.
They will have 7 days after the motorized vehicle restriction is lifted to clean up their baiting stations.
