A teenager was arrested last week for allegedly fatally shooting a 41-year-old man in April while the man was walking his dog in San Jose, officials said in aMatthew Antracoli, 18, from San Mateo was arrested in Morgan Hill on May 9 after officers obtained a warrant for his arrest, the San Jose Police Department said.
The shooting occurred just before 2 p.m. April 19 on the 1000 block of Blossom River Drive, where officers found the man with a gunshot wound, SJPD said. The department is still investigating the suspect’s motive, but a spokesperson for SJPD told SFGATE it appeared he may have been attempting to steal the man’s dog.
Officers and medics attempted life-saving measures, but the 41-year-old, identified by the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner's Office as Jorge Torres Maestre, was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.
