Officials used dental records to confirm human remains found in California last week belong to 24-year-old Alexis Gabe.
Alexis Gabe, who police believe was killed by her ex-boyfriend Marshall Jones, was first reported missing in January, launching a search by law enforcement, family and the community.
Earrings, duct tape and garbage bag remnants were also found in the area where Gabe's remains were discovered. "The earrings that were found were determined to belong to Alexis based on photographs of her wearing them," Horn said. Horn said the condition of the remains did not indicate the cause of death. While no other remains have been found near those along Highway 16, Horn said investigators"are confident her remains were separated from one another and scattered to several areas." The Oakley Police DepartmentGabe was reported missing on Jan. 27 after not returning home from a visit to Jones' house in Antioch.
