A 44-year-old male was pronounced dead on the scene, officials said.
Detectives are investigating a shooting that turned fatal in an industrial section of Elizabeth on Wednesday afternoon, Union County Prosecutor William A. Daniel said.
City police responded to reports of gunshots near the 700 block of Dowd Avenue at 1:23 p.m., officials said. Officers located a 44-year-old man who had sustained gunshot wounds, authorities said. He succumbed to his injures and was pronounced dead on the scene, officials said. An investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
