Authorities ID woman, 61, killed in Lemon Grove hit-and-run crash [Breaking]
Authorities on Sunday identified a 61-year-old woman who was struck and killed by an apparent hit-and-run driver earlier in the week in Lemon Grove.near the intersection of Broadway and Harris Street, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office and Sheriff’s Department.The deadly crash happened around 12:30 a.m. near the intersection a few blocks east of Massachusetts Boulevard, a sheriff’s sergeant said.
Anderson “was in a verbal argument with a homeless individual” when she was struck, according to the Medical Examiner’s Office, which said it could not determine where she lived. Anderson died at the scene without being taken to a hospital and her cause of death was listed as blunt force injuries to her chest, officials said.
A witness told deputies the truck that struck Anderson was possibly a Ford F-150, sheriff’s Sgt. Michal Power said. The driver did not stop. Sheriff’s officials asked anyone with information about the crash — including anyone from the area who might have helpful surveillance footage — to contact San Diego County Crime Stoppers at 580-8477.
