UPDATE: Illinois GovPritzker reports at least nine people shot at Highland Park parade. Police and paramedics responded to the chaotic scene Monday. Whereabouts of the shooter are unclear.
Parade-goers could be seen running for safety a little after 10 a.m. when the festivities got underway, and police with rifles were on the scene apparently looking for the shooter. Paramedics were also spotted. There were no immediate details on any suspects from police. Gov. J.B. Pritzker said on WGN that early information indicates nine people were shot, but their conditions were not clear.
