, the year is 1955—and aliens are encroaching on a town as starry as space itself. In the film, “the itinerary of a Junior Stargazer/Space Cadet convention is spectacularly disrupted by world-changing events,” a mysterious Focus Features synopsis reads.
Jason Schwartzman, Scarlett Johansson, Tom Hanks, Jeffrey Wright, Tilda Swinton, Bryan Cranston, Edward Norton, Adrien Brody, Liev Schreiber, Hope Davis, Stephen Park, Rupert Friend, Maya Hawke, Steve Carell, Matt Dillon, Hong Chau, Willem Dafoe, Margot Robbie, Tony Revolori, Jake Ryan,. Most of those famous faces are missing from the first trailer, where much of the action appears to center around onalum Ryan’s adolescent character, whose father bonds with Johansson after the death of his wife.
