Around 30% of Plano's population is between 45-64, according to city data.

“As time went on and we got to the new century, people stopped moving,” Lavine said. “They liked it here. … And so, they kept their homes.”“What you have here is a lot of folks sitting on large homes, large real estate they bought to bring up their children, and they’re sitting in their 3,000- to 5,000-square-foot home with a room for the grandkids,” Lavine said.
“They have their parents coming and living with them, and then you have the people who actually own the household — that middle generation — and then their children,” Sims said.“We’re growing older, faster in Plano because of that maturity,” Lavine said.
