Arnold Schwarzenegger drew similarities between the current state of artificial intelligence today to his hit 1984 movie, “Terminator.”
Arnie tells Danny Devito heaven is a ‘fantasy’ and ‘anyone that tells you something else is a f–king liar’While speaking at an event titled “An Evening With Arnold Schwarzenegger” this week in Los Angeles, the star, 75, claimed that the artificial intelligence world that was predicted in the “Terminator” movies has “become a reality.”
The actor also praised the film series’ director, James Cameron, for his “extraordinary” writing, noting that when the movie debuted in 1984 they had “just scratched the surface” of AI. The classic film has since been continued into many different sequels, with the most recent one, “Terminator: Dark Fate,” having premiered in 2019.“He’s just such an extraordinary writer and he’s such an unbelievable director, this is again, one of those things that I wish I could take credit for this movie,” he said.©Paramount/Courtesy Everett Collection“Terminator” was a film about humans versus machines.“I can only take credit of the character that I played and the way I played it.
