A federal court in Argentina convicted the country’s vice president, Cristina Kirchner, of fraud charges and sentenced her to six years in prison
A three-judge panel said Mrs. Kirchner, along with several other former aides, would be permanently banned from holding public office, capping
against Argentina’s most prominent and polarizing politician. Mrs. Kirchner served as president for two terms from 2007 to 2015 before becoming the first vice president in the country to be tried and convicted on graft charges while in office.
