Archer Aviation, a manufacturer of air taxis, has signed a rental agreement that would accommodate a big expansion for the company and shift its headquarters to San Jose.

SAN JOSE — Archer Aviation, which seeks to create a new generation of air taxis, has signed a rental agreement to shift its headquarters to San Jose in a big expansion.

The aircraft maker’s current head offices at 1880 Embarcadero Road in Palo Alto total about 20,600 square feet, according to the Compstak commercial property listing service. “Maker is our full-scale electric vertical takeoff and landing demonstrator aircraft, capable of traveling at speeds of up to 150 miles per hour,” Archer Aviation stated on its website.

“Whether commuting or exploring, Maker will allow you to have transformative travel experiences every day,” the company states on its website.
