Apple announced its store at Northlake Mall in Charlotte, North Carolina would close permanently one day after the mall experienced its third shooting in less than three months.
Apple released the following statement to Fox News Digital Wednesday night:
The closure comes after a string of shootings at the mall since Dec. 15 – two of which taking place within the past month, according toDuring the December shooting, two people were struck by gunfire around 3 p.m. after a fight escalated inside the mall. On Feb. 5, one shot was fired inside the mall under similar circumstances, resulting in two injuries that were not gunshot wounds.
