On Tuesday, Ocasio-Cortez was one of just nine Democrats to vote against a resolution expressing the United States's support for Israel, in addition to labeling the country as"racist" or an"apartheid" state. Haley, a vocal supporter of Israel, listed the names of the nine Democrats on her Twitter, promising to"remember their names." The New York Democrat didn't waver, however, mocking Haley's list and reaffirming her criticism of Israel.
"The Democratic Party is the definition of extreme," she continued."It’s time to censure the Squad and get antisemitism out of America — for good!" The resolution was prompted when, during a panel discussion with the progressive Netroots Nation, Rep. Pramila Jayapal emphasized their shared goal of “fighting to make it clear that Israel is a racist state.” The comment led to a wave of backlash, prompting her to issue a retraction in which she stated that she doesn't believe Israel is racist but was simply trying to defuse a tense situation.
