American Psycho is getting a comic book adaptation from publisher Sumerian, which will be based on the memorable 2000 film of the same name that starred Christian Bale as Patrick Bateman.
What To Know About the American Psycho Comics Adaptation
The adaptation will have a dual narrative, focusing on a different perspective of Bateman’s killing spree — with one notable twist. The other narrative reveals a “modern-day arc with surprising connections to the past.” It’s created as a sequel to the 2000 movie, which itself led to an unsuccessful and forgotten sequel.
The story puts the spotlight on “an all-new psychopath as social media-obsessed millennial, Charlie Carruthers, goes on a downward spiral filled with violence. Drug-fueled partying leads to bloodshed as Charlie leaves a trail of bodies on her way to discovering the truth about her dark nature.” Michael Calero is credited with the story. Piotr Kowalski and Brad Simpson are credited with the art and color, respectively.Abdullah Al-Ghamdi is a news writer for ComingSoon, with a specific focus on TV.
