Iam Tongi and Dawson Wayne's Hawaii Week video of Jack Johnson's 'Banana Pancakes' is trending after Sunday's finale.
Back when he was still in the running, Wayne posted a low-key video of himself and Tongi singing a bit of Jack Johnson’s song “Banana Pancakes.” Wayne wrote “Some Jack Johnson for Hawaii week” on the post, in which they sit side by side in what appears to be a hotel room, with Tongi strumming a guitar.
Wayne, whose given name is Dawson Rice, does most of the singing in the clip, though they do a little harmonizing here and there. One commenter points that out, writing to Tongi, “Just remember you’re the real deal. You aren’t a backup singer.”on April 23, took note of the finale Sunday night, writing, “Season 21 of American Idol officially comes to an end tonight and I cannot be more grateful for the friends I’ve made.
