The westbound lanes of Interstate 580 in Oakland are open early Thursday evening after a collision and possible shooting hours before prompted an investigation by the California Highway Patrol and the subsequent closure of the freeway.
The collision was reported at 2:17 p.m.A sigalert was issued around 2:45 p.m. initially blocking two lanes.SKY7 flew over the scene and spotted a white vehicle following the accident.This is an ongoing investigation, a CHP spokesperson said.
