Designer Henrik Fisker's upstart all-electric SUV's bumpy and delayed start to production appears to have paid off with efficient engineering.
, was advertising 356 miles of range at a full charge, among other posts showing various Ocean SUVs on the factory floor as the company ramps up for full production. Just a few days later, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency published its range estimate for the new model that bests even Fisker's most efficient benchmark competitor, the Tesla Model Y. Critically, the U.S. government has also officially cleared the Ocean for sale, with U.S. deliveries supposed to begin this month.
In Europe, the most efficient available Fisker Ocean was previously rated on the WLTP cycle to achieve an estimated 707 kilometers, or roughly 440 miles of range on a full charge, which makes it the longest-range EV sold on the continent over there.
