For the first time since tracking began in March 2022, Cuyahoga County and all Ohio counties were designated green for low COVID-19 spread on the latest U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention map.

CLEVELAND, Ohio — The latest map was updated late Thursday.

Cuyahoga County was classified as green for one week in February, but reverted to yellow classification - for moderate concern - the following week. Last week, only two counties — Mahoning and Trumbull — were classified yellow for moderate COVID-19 spread. None was designated red. Ohio has had more than 70 counties designated green since mid-March. Prior to March, the last times Ohio had 70 or more counties classified green were March 2022 , November 2022 and Feb. 9 .Counties are classified as low , medium or high under the CDC’s system for estimating the risk of COVID-19 infection.

People in red counties with high transmission are advised by the CDC to wear masks indoors. Counties are considered to have high transmission levels when community coronavirus circulation could overwhelm local hospitals.Geauga County: Green Summit County: Green Geauga County: Green Summit County: Green
