This is a direct parallel to the X-wing attack formations used in the Battle of Yavin against the Death Star. At first, it may seem like Shin Hati’s line is an insignificant callback, but it speaks volumes to Shin’s tactical genius. Both Shin and Marrok appeared to lead two starfighters apiece at the beginning of the battle.
This Is The Best Easter Egg In Ahsoka So Far While Sabine training in Zatochi was a great easter egg to one of Luke’s first lessons with a lightsaber, Shin and Marrok utilizing starfighter techniques from the original trilogy fits perfectly. It makes sense how squadron formations are still around from A New Hope and how they haven’t changed much since then, especially given how effective they were in numerous Rebellion battles.
