Remember this guy from American Idol? 🎵 Dynamic rock vocalist Adam Lambert will be at the St. Augustine Amp on Wednesday but first he sat down for an exclusive interview with Record reporter Colleen Michele Jones.
Lambert is currently on tour supporting his latest solo effort, the album"Velvet," and appears at the St. Augustine Amp on Wednesday. This will be the final of his three Florida stops.Like so many musicians during the pandemic, it must have been hard to pull back from touring and public appearances.
Record: Did the movie"Bohemian Rhapsody" in 2018 about Freddy Mercury and the band generate more interest in Queen?Record:Lambert: Well, first, I don't take requests [laughs]. 'Whataya Want From Me,' 'Mad World' probably. I like to throw in a bunch of funk and R&B, and about half of the show is Queen songs.It was an amazing launchpad. … You can't really get exposure like that anymore.I've never been there, and I am looking forward to checking it out. … I just want everyone to have fun. Put on some kind of silly outfit and become part of the family.
