Tornado warning expanded to Hunterdon; Somerset counties in New Jersey
While storms can flare up at any time today, expect two rounds of more widespread activity during midday hours and again this evening.
Any thunderstorm over the next few days can produce downpours with localized flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.Most of the Tri-state Area is under a slight risk of severe storms on Monday. That means level 2 out of 5 with damaging winds and up to quarter-size hail being the main threats. The Storm Prediction Center has upgraded the southern half of New Jersey to an enhanced risk of severe thunderstorms. Isolated tornadoes can't be ruled out in that area.
