The Tokyo National Museum will have an exhibit dedicated to Gundam!
This month, Gundam will be returning to the small screen thanks to Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury, which isn't just the newest entry into the"Mobile Suit" series but will also introduce the first female protagonist jumping into a mech. With Gundam's popularity continuing to rise in recent years, the mech franchise will be arriving in a locale that it never has set foot in before, as a statue from the anime will hit the Tokyo National Museum later this year.
The first image of the Gundam statue has been shared, and while it won't be as tall as many of the other statues that have hit Japan in recent years, it will be around the same size as your average museum patron, towering over the typical Gundam plastic models that have become hot ticket items:
